Privacy & cookies.
This notice describes this version of Parking Charge Watch. It applies from 2 November 2026.
Who is responsible?
Digitally Brilliant is the publisher and controller for enquiries and contributions sent to Parking Charge Watch. Contact: info@digitallybrilliant.co.uk, with “Parking Charge Watch - privacy” in the subject.
Browsing and the on-page form
Our website code does not set analytics or advertising cookies, use browser storage, embed tracking pixels or load third-party fonts. Open Sans font files are served directly from this website, without requests to Google Fonts. The contribution form processes text temporarily in your browser to prepare an email or a downloaded text file. It does not send entries to a website database. Clearing or leaving the page discards the entry; your browser or device may separately retain downloads or restore form values.
Hosting and access providers necessarily process connection data, such as IP address and request details, to deliver and secure the website. This version is hosted through OpenAI Sites and its Cloudflare infrastructure. Access to a private preview may also involve your ChatGPT account under the provider’s own policies. We do not receive your ChatGPT credentials.
When you contact us
If you choose to send an email, we receive your email address, display name, message, attachments and ordinary email metadata through our email service. Your email app and provider also process that communication under their own arrangements. Please avoid sensitive information, vehicle registrations and unredacted notices.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use enquiries to respond, maintain accurate content, manage complaints and protect the publication. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in running a useful, accurate and secure publication, balanced against your rights. Where retention is required by law, we rely on legal obligation.
We use your optional consent to publish your chosen display name and an edited, anonymised experience. Consent is not required for a private enquiry. You can withdraw it at any time by email; withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. We do not use submissions for marketing.
Who may receive information?
The publisher and service providers supporting hosting and email may process information for those purposes. We do not sell it. We may disclose limited information where legally required or necessary to address a legal claim. We will not forward your identifiable story to a parking operator for comment without discussing this with you, unless a legal obligation requires disclosure.
Providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable arrangements. Their privacy information explains their processing and transfer safeguards: OpenAI and Cloudflare. Contact us for information about arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
Retention
Our policy is to delete routine enquiry and unpublished contribution emails within 12 months of the last substantive contact. Approved contributions and a minimal record of permission are retained while published, with an annual review. On withdrawal, we remove the contribution and unnecessary related personal information promptly. Relevant records may be retained for longer where needed for a live complaint, legal obligation or claim, and reviewed when that need ends. Provider-held operational records follow the provider’s retention arrangements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. Contact us using the address above. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions and exemptions. We may request proportionate verification.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve concerns.
Changes
We will update this notice before introducing analytics, direct form collection, marketing or other materially different processing. Publication of a privacy notice does not itself guarantee compliance.
